Metro Lutheran Ministry provides critical help to the poorest of the poor in metropolitan Kansas City. MLM is motivated by the teachings of Jesus to love and serve our neighbors. MLM provides:
• Rent and utility assistance.
• Millions of pounds of food shared with people in need each year and hot-breakfast programs each Saturday from two locations.
• Grace Homes, Luther Johnson Homes and Project CARE for homeless individuals with disabilities.
• Minor Home Repair for low income seniors and people with disabilities.
• Employment & GED assistance through Learning to Earning.
Iglesia De Cristo is a Spanish-speaking Anglican church plant led by Pastor José Zurita. They worship on Sundays at 2 pm.
“No Matter What” a Narcotics Anonymous (NA) group meets on Tuesdays at 8 pm. NA and other 12-step programs offer regularly scheduled meetings for people who want to quit using substances. When coming together, often weekly, NA members share their drug-related experiences and provide one another with support, encouragement, and guidance.
The Alexandrian Community is a religious society of dispersed apostolic ministers, serving in diverse contexts, often beyond the bounds of traditional parish settings. We are chaplains, pastoral counselors, and spiritual directors, we’re educators and community organizers, we’re public theologians, and indeed congregational ministers, whose roles range from church planting, and supply preaching, to settled ministry, reaching beyond denominational bounds.
